Derrin quickly developed an interest in the funeral and death care industry where she has ascended to a management role and benefited from wage advancement opportunities.

“The Hawthorne Teen Center is a great place to learn about new opportunities! Always be willing to get out of your comfort zone and try new things because the Tenn Center provides a strong support system.”

“Growing up I always struggled with worrying about medical insurance and not being able to get proper healthcare. I want to pursue a career where I can support patients who often struggle with finding good healthcare in their community.”

“I would encourage others to explore and take advantage of the great opportunities that the One Stop has to offer. Whether it be finding what career path, finding a job, help with a resume, the One Stop has many tools at their disposal to help with a variety of different needs.”

“Take the opportunity! You will not find another program with individuals who care about your future as much as the One-Stop Programs. I am in a completely different place not only as an employee or a student, but as an individual since I began the program. I have met many caring and inspiring adults and mentors during this process, and I couldn’t be more grateful for my experiences. During the pandemic, I was still given the upmost support regardless of the circumstances.”
