Meet Uriel Gutierrez

Uriel Gutierrez visited the South Bay One-Stop Business & Career Center in Torrance seeking assistance with finding part-time work before graduating high school three months later. Unsure about college, he met with a Youth Case Manager and explored internship options.

He chose to intern at the Boys & Girls Club, tutoring children of various ages. After completing the internship, he decided to delay college and focus on work. Staff helped him improve his resume and practice interview skills. He applied for a technician role at a local environmental services company, performed well in the interview, and was hired. Now working full-time with growth opportunities, Mr. Gutierrez is thankful for the program’s support during this important transition.
