Meet Madison Box

Workforce Challenge:

Eighteen-year-old Madison Box of Lomita was in search of her first job. Her desire was to start her workforce experience. Having no prior employment, she encountered challenges getting hired. Madison came across the South Bay One-Stop Business & Career Center services through her school.

Workforce Solution:

Madison managed to interview at a few places for intern positions. Interviewing and through the case management offered to her, she built her confidence, skills, and abilities to work in the workforce. Madison pointed out the connections through the One-Stop Center assisted her, a young and inexperienced individual to get hired.

Outcome and Benefits:

Madison obtained work experience through internships and had skills to add to her resume, showing employers her work history. She is now employed at Torrance Bakery.

“Take the opportunity! You will not find another program with individuals who care about your future as much as the One-Stop Programs. I am in a completely different place not only as an employee or a student, but as an individual since I began the program. I have met many caring and inspiring adults and mentors during this process, and I couldn’t be more grateful for my experiences. During the pandemic, I was still given the upmost support regardless of the circumstances.”
