Meet Lesly Leon

Lesly Leon, a 17-year-old high school student, came to the South Bay One-Stop Business & Career Center in Carson facing major challenges: She grew up in a high crime-neighborhood, was unhoused, had no work experience, and was at risk of dropping out of school. Lesly needed strong support to get back on track.

Through the One-Stop, Lesly received mentoring, career counseling, resume help, and work readiness training. She completed 300 hours of paid work experience and excelled in a sales role at Photo Makers Inc., earning commissions and eventually a permanent job offer. She also received college and financial aid guidance, earned her high school diploma, and was accepted to CSU Dominguez Hills, where she now studies Child Development and lives on campus.

Lesly received mentoring, career counseling, resume help, and work readiness training.
