EV Connect - El Segundo

Workforce History:

EV connect Inc. was established in 2009 to provide electric vehicle charging solutions for commercial, enterprise, hospitality, university and government facilities in California.

Workforce Challenge:

EV Connect Inc. was experiencing the challenge of finding qualified candidates to fill their numerous administrative and customer service positions.

Outcomes & Benefits:

Turning to the South Bay Workforce Investment Board’s Inglewood One-Stop Business & Career Center early in 2018, EV Connect was given a needs assessment and then the One-Stop Center staff created an effective strategy to fit their specific business, employment and talent acquisition needs. Job developers explained the benefits of using On-the-Job Training contracts that would enable them to train candidates their way while getting reimbursed during the training period. One-Stop Staff recruited, screened, vetted and referred candidates that met EV Connect’s hiring requirements. Eventually many full-time positions were filled and the partnership with the SBWIB continues.
