Centinela Hospital Medical Center
Centinela Hospital Medical Center, a 362-bed acute-care facility in Inglewood and a member of Prime Healthcare, has been serving the South Bay community since 1924 with a wide range of services including emergency care, cardiac care, rehabilitation, and stroke treatment. The hospital has long been a cornerstone of healthcare in the region and has consistently invested in modernization and community engagement to strengthen access to care.
Their leadership has also extended into workforce development through a strong partnership with the SBWIB. Centinela’s current CEO and Chairman, Mohammad A. Naser, R.N., MSN, MBA, serves on the SBWIB Board of Directors, ensuring that the hospital’s perspective helps guide regional workforce strategies. Centinela has participated in SBWIB’s Healthcare Industry Sector Partnership, helping align hospitals, clinics, and educational institutions to create practical career pathways for healthcare workers. The hospital also routinely takes part in SBWIB job fairs and participates in the Employment Training Panel program as an employer partner to upskill their workforce.
Through this collaboration, SBWIB has been able to align curriculum and training programs with the real needs of local hospitals, creating stronger pipelines of talent for the industry. Centinela’s civic engagement, through chambers of commerce, health fairs, and outreach events, has also amplified SBWIB’s recruitment efforts and helped connect more community members to opportunities in healthcare. Together, this partnership has produced tangible results. Centinela gains access to a more skilled and job-ready pool of candidates, SBWIB strengthens its employer-driven training models, and the community benefits from expanded access to career pathways in a sector that continues to drive regional growth.
