Meet Daniel Olivares

Meet Daniel Olivares

After 21 years in prison, 41-year-old Daniel Olivares discovered career opportunities in construction while in a transitional residential facility. He joined the Career Expansion program, which led to an invitation to work with Laborers Union Local 300 on the LA Fires cleanup. Eager to enhance his skills, Daniel completed an asbestos certification course.

Upon finishing the course, he was hired by Anvil Construction at a starting rate of $43.88 per hour. Through dedication and the support of the program, Daniel successfully transitioned from incarceration to a rewarding career, proving that second chances and hard work can lead to a fresh start and new opportunities.

“Two months ago, I couldn’t imagine myself where I am now. This was an opportunity Y of a lifetime.”
