Erika Alvarado began serving at the YouthBuild Lennox site since November 2017, where she started as a part-time Executive Assistant. In 2019, South Bay Workforce Investment Board (SBWIB) offered her the opportunity to manage the SBWIB YouthBuild program as the Youth Program Coordinator.

In her current role, she manages the day-to-day operations and oversees all components of the program, such as education, counseling, leadership development, and construction training. Before YouthBuild, she was working at SBWIB's Inglewood and Hawthorne Teen Centers, where she provided youth with resume assistance, tutoring, and career readiness. Her background further consists of working in various college programs to support student success, such as Puente, Transfer Outreach, and Student Success and Support. Erika's professional development began in her teen years through SBWIB's Summer Youth Job Program. She confidently believes that other youth and young adults can also achieve success and obtain numerous benefits through SBWIB youth programs as she did.

Erika holds a Master's of Leadership and Organizational Studies and a Bachelor's in Psychology. Her greatest inspiration is the transformation that individuals can obtain through various programs when they commit and dedicate themselves to achieve success. Erika is motivated by her Christian faith to serve others with compassion, dedication, and above all, love!
