Biography

Paige Baines joined SBWIB YouthBuild in June 2020 and is a Career Service Coordinator (Case Manager - Life Skills). She works collaboratively with all members of the program to promote a pro-social community atmosphere and to effectively coach students in the core areas of systematic participation, service opportunity, and skillful community-building.

Before joining SBWIB YouthBuild, she spent over five years managing a caseload of Program participants in areas of academics, independent living, social development, vocational, and volunteer opportunities. Paige graduated from Grambling State University with a B.A. in Mass Communications concentrating in Public Relations. She is conjointly a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated Sorority. She also served as a Case Manager Intern during her College tenure for the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, Louisiana, for Transition Aged Youth. Paige is actively completing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy at Grand Canyon University. She is passionate about helping others achieve their highest ambitions to navigate daily realities through successful decision-making, counseling, and empathetic leadership.

Paige believes that there is no education like adversity and uses her personal experience, combined with her professional expertise to foster positive relationships that are both poignant and informational. She grew up in the South Los Angeles area of the Crenshaw District and recognizes firsthand the fiscal difficulties, crowding, housing, and public education of potential impediments to educational achievement and employment. She believes that out of adversity comes opportunity and that true diligence is the mother of good luck. Through hard work, courage, and interagency planning - all students can become academically successful with a supportive foundation.
