Youth Services

Who are we?

The South Bay One Stop Business & Career Centers Youth Services (formerly known as the South Bay School-to-Career Alliance) sponsored by the South Bay Workforce Investment Board, is a dynamic education and training collaborative that connects the resources of local businesses, education providers, community organizations, and government agencies.

Operated through the South Bay One-Stop Business & Career Centers System, our goal is to give local youth the skills needed to succeed—both in school and in the 21st century workplace. Our programs serve students, teachers, employers, and parents in the cities of Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lennox, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo and the unincorporated area of Gardena .

Our Goals:

All our programs are designed to:
  • Help students succeed in school by offering comprehensive, integrated academic services
  • Support teachers by helping them fulfill their academic requirements through a hands-on, work relevant curriculum, professional development workshops, and education resources
  • Broaden students’ horizons by exposing them to a broad array of industries, college options, and career opportunities
  • Support parents by offering relevant academic and workplace learning opportunities to create a bright future for their children.
  • Link post secondary institutions and community-based agencies with students, parents and employers to leverage the community’s resources
  • Support employers by connecting them with quality interns, workforce development resources, and networking opportunities
