OUTPLACEMENT SERVICES FOR DISLOCATED WORKERS

Workers laid off either due to plant closure or downsizing, or who have been out of work
for prolonged periods, may be eligible to receive retraining/transition services including
on-the-job training, classroom training or customized training in demand occupations. Training
for dislocated workers is designed to re-employ individuals by developing and matching
transferable skills with job opportunities in growth industries.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR ADULTS

Eligible individuals, receive in-depth assessment and job preparation workshops,
which prepare them for classroom or the employer's site, at public or private vocational
schools, colleges or universities found on the Regional Training Vendor Directory (RTVD).

EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR OLDER WORKERS
|
|
Seniors 55 years and older can receive job placement assistance as experienced
participants for full or part-time work. The South Bay One -Stop Business & Employment
Centers are able to place ready, willing and able seniors who want to invest their
time and energy in meaningful employment.

EMPLOYMENT AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR YOUTH
|
|
Services for youth, 14-21 year of age, assist in developing work skills and habits
required for the work skills and habits required for the world of work and entry
level employment. Year-round and in-school programs include training for temporary,
part-time and full-time employment in public and non-profit agencies. The summer
Youth employment and Training Programs provides work experience for youth, 14-21
years of age, in public and non-profit organizations during the summer months.

CAREER RESOURCES CENTER

The South Bay One-Stop Business & Career Centers offers customer the use of
computers, access to Internet, copiers, fax machine, typewriters and a variety
of other resources for job search.
